I entered a running marathon for charity last spring. I always like to do things like this for both helping the needy as well as getting some good fitness work for myself and my body. But let me tell you something, I will never do one of these again in the spring or summer! It will have to be either fall or early winter before it gets freezing cold. Because in the spring and summer it can be brutal on your body. When I was running in this thing I wanted and needed nothing more than to be in quality air conditioning after running for about 20 minutes! It got so bad that I had to actually back out of the marathon on the second day. My body was just needing the air conditioning on it and I could not carry on without air conditioning in the warm weather that was happening. Which that part was good and I felt at ease with it. But I will not do this again unless they have one in September, October or something like that. What a lot of folks do not understand is that no matter how good of shape you think you are in, you will always need some kind of air conditioning when your body is overworked. Especially when the weather is super warm outside! After I bailed out of the marathon run I had gone home and cranked my central air conditioning system to the max!
